BSD/Apache as theft????

Enter The JBoss Matrix

C’mon Mr. Fleury, really?  People are stealing BSD/Apache code?  How can one steal something that we are giving away?  That’s like saying I am stealing air every time I breathe.  If anything, more people steal (L)GPL code, if you assume the notion of theft applies at all, given that they use it in violation of the terms of the license knowing the FSF can’t track them down or they simply don’t understand the terms.  Hard to say.  I’ve read the (L)GPL license 5+ times and I still don’t know when and how I can use it.  It seems everyone has a different opinion on it.   Some say just build wrappers around it, others say that is still in violation.

Compare that with Apache/BSD:  Use it however you want, just don’t claim you made it when you didn’t.  No lawyers needed.  After all, that, is the real theft of (L)GPL!
