Maven 2 Fun

Here’s a Maven tip that has helped me a few times: If things are failing and you can’t figure out why, try deleting your local repository and starting fresh with a new set of downloads. This has saved the day for me during at least 3 different releases that weren’t going through. In one case, I was starting with a clean, freshly checked out pom.xml and the release process was failing because it said the pom.xml was modified and couldn’t perform an SVN commit, despite the fact that it was modified from changes Maven made to it, not me.  I deleted the local repo and the it went through fine the next time.
