I have never understood why baseball, cycling, etc. get to be above the law? If you or I take steroids, a federal offense, we go to jail. If a pro athlete does, they get a bigger contract. America and the world is pretty messed up when it comes to drugs. Say for instance, I decide to get high the night before I am going to check myself in to rehab. One last hurrah before going straight. Now say I get caught. I then go to jail. However, if I make it to the next day and check myself in, all is good.
Not to ramble too much, but the same principle irks me about these pedophile Catholic priests. Why aren’t they being prosecuted under the law? All you ever hear is that they are kicked out of the church or sent for counseling. These people are criminals and they should be prosecuted as such, separation of church and state does not apply here.
