Ask.com seems to have risen from the ashes these days, thanks to some new technologies to spruce up its home page. I am a pretty die hard googler, like most of us, but I am going to give Ask.com a try for a few days by setting it up as my default search in Firefox.

Why make the half-hearted leap, you might ask? CNN has an interesting article called Ask.com: Google’s up-and-coming rival and I have been using it from time to time since Ask.com made their announcement that they were upgrading their system. I particularly like their mapping capabilities. Also their query expansion/narrowing capabilities are pretty handy when you want to broaden/narrow your search.

I’ll give it a try and post what I think in a week or so.
